Egemen Karakaya is an architectural photographer based in Istanbul.
He was born in 1988.
Graduated from Dokuz Eylül University Department of Architecture (B.Arch-2011). Following his master degree from İstanbul Bilgi University Architectural Design Programme (M.Arch.-2014). His studies at Istanbul Technical University Architectural Design Doctorate Program are still in the thesis stage (Phd. 2019)
After working in several architecture offices and lecturing at İstanbul Bilgi University, he has been practicing architecture photography and videography since 2019.
In addition to his professional work, he is interested in ancient cities. He explores ways to represent the post-apocalyptic atmosphere of vanished civilizations through photography.
